Pecan Pie

While pecans grow across both the central and southern portions of the U.S., pecan pie is deeply rooted in southern tradition. This super sweet pie is traditionally made from corn syrup, incorporating pecans into the sugary mixture, lining the pie shell with pecans, or simply topping the entire pie with pecans. There are lots of variations on the traditional recipe such as the popular chocolate pecan pie, rum pecan or coconut pecan pies.
