Martinis
The classic cocktail: the Martini. A true martini is made with gin. If you want vodka instead you need to order it as a vodka martini. A traditional martini can be shaken or stirred to combine the ingredients and chill the drink. It can be served on the rocks (with ice) or straight (no ice). Vermouth is added in varying degrees depending on how dry you want it.
Of course, there are lots of "other" martinis that have developed over time to include various flavors and forms of alcohol. Popular non-traditional martini recipes are the appletini, chocolate martini, cucumber martini and the sakitini.
