Asian pears have a crisp, fresh, fruity apple flavor that pairs well with the warmth of the ginger syrup. If you can't get Asian pears you can substitute a bosc pear or crisp apple.

1/2 ounce ginger syrup (see recipe)
2 ounces citrus-flavored vodka
1/2 ounce apple schnapps
1/2 ounce peach schnapps
Asian pear or apple slice for garnish
GINGER SYRUP
1 pound ginger root, peeled and diced
1 cup white sugar
1 cup water
2 ounces lime juice
3 ounces lemon lime soda
For Martini: Combine ingredients in a shaker with ice. Strain into chilled martini glass. Float garnish on top.
For Ginger Syrup: Blend ingredients in a saucepan over low heat. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat. Once cool, strain out ginger with a fine mesh sieve or cheese cloth.

Make up the full recipe of ginger syrup because once you taste it you are going to want to use it in everything! The martini has a wonderful blend of flavors and isn't overly sweet. I really enjoyed this cocktail!
