Beer makes up 85% of all alcoholic beverage consumption (in total volume) in America

Americans consumed 7.4 billion gallons of beer in 2005.

Beers contain a varying amount of carbohydrates. Anywhere from 2.6 grams in the lowest carb beers to 23 grams in the highest carb beers.

Beer is popular in cooking. It makes a great marinade for steaks and adds flavor when used as the simmering liquid when cooking bratwurst. Beer is also used in breads (beer bread), in soups (beer cheese soup), and when battering fish or seafood (beer battered fish).
