ingredients
2 tablespoons minced onions
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon whole mustard seed
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon oregano, crushed
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 bay leaf
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 cup salad oil
1/4 cup tarragon vinegar
2 tablespoons wine vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 drops liquid smoke
directions
Combine all ingredients, stirring well. Simmer gently for 20-25 minutes or until the consistency you like. Remove bay leaf.
Excellent with roast beef or pork.

This looks identical (no seriously, same measurements, it's even in the exact same order) to the recipe my grandfather got from Playboy back in the day minus the ketchup and cloves.
way too much vinegar and no tomato ingredient for a BBQ sauce is strange, I had to adjust and add a lot of indgredients to make it palatable. will not make again
Vinegar-based bbq sauces are not unusual (contain no tomato) at all. Barbecue sauce composition is a regional thing in the U.S.
