1 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 drops bottled hot pepper sauce
1 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 tablespoon minced onions

directions

Whisk all the ingredients together in the crock pot.

Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 2 hours or until the sauce is heated and the flavors have melded.

Let cool.

Use as a dipping or basting sauce on chicken, ribs, pork, etc.

Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

    My favorite homemade bbq sauce recipes are ones that are slowly simmered not just thrown together quick. I hadn't thought to use the crock pot for this before but it's a great idea beause you don't have to worry about having to stir it or it burning. This was a decent recipe. Very basic flavors so it will go on anything. Can easily add flavors like liquid smoke or molasses or whatever you need.
