Dreamland is actually the name of a BBQ chain, not just where you'll be after you slather this sauce onto your ribs or toss it on your pulled pork sandwiches. It's sweet, it's spicy, and it's got a couple tricks up its sleeve to keep you guessing. And dreaming.
serves/makes:
ready in: 30-60 minutes
ingredients
1 can (28 ounce size) tomato puree 1/3 cup yellow mustard 3 cups water 1 1/2 cup cider vinegar 1/4 cup dark corn syrup 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 tablespoon granulated sugar 1 tablespoon brown sugar 2 tablespoons chili powder 1 tablespoon dry mustard 1 tablespoon paprika 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper 2 teaspoons onion powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
directions
Combine the tomato puree and yellow mustard in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Whisk until combined.
Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Let the mixture come to a boil then reduce the heat to a very low simmer. Let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
The sauce is best used while warm or at room temperature but you can let it cool to room temperature then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).
