  1. L. Watters REVIEW:

Very good soup. Instead of tomatoes I put cubed potatoes in and instead of the red wine I used chicken broth.

  2. Jen

I just read where Melissa used V8 juice in the soup. Can I *substitute* the V8 for the dry red wine? We don't like cooking with wine. (My husband doesn't like the taste.) Thanks!

  3. Donna REVIEW:

I used a chuck roast that was on sale rather than flank steak. Just cut it into pieces to saute it. It was absolutely delicious. It is great because no gravy or anything when you go to serve. The flour you have used thickens it all day.

  4. Melissa REVIEW:

This soup is delicious. The broth is thick, hearty and and rich. I did add 2 cups of V8 juice about an hour before serving because it hadn't produced quite enough, but, had I been serving fewer people, I would have left it just as it was.
