Skinless chicken breast halves are cooked on top of potato wedges and topped with Italian salad dressing and parmesan cheese. Pork chops also work well in place of the chicken in this recipe.

crock pot notes

Crock pots/slow cookers all heat differently. There is no standard among manufacturers. Cooking times are suggested guidelines based on our testing. Please adjust cooking times and temps to work with your brand and model of slow cooker.

recipe tips

For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in Italian dressing for a few hours before cooking.

Add some fresh herbs like basil or parsley at the end of the cooking time for a pop of color and flavor.

Try different types of cheese such as mozzarella or cheddar for a different flavor.

Make sure to check the internal temperature of the chicken to make sure it's cooked through before serving. It should be 165 degrees F.

You can bake this dish in the oven at 375 degrees F for about 45 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and the potatoes are tender.

How should I store leftovers?

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or oven.

Can this dish be frozen?

Yes, this dish freezes well. Allow it to cool completely before placing it in a freezer-safe container. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.

tools needed

Large Crock Pot: The main cooking vessel for this recipe, used to slow cook the potatoes and chicken together with the Italian dressing and Parmesan cheese.

Peeler: To peel the potatoes before cutting them into wedges. You can also use a knife if you don't have a vegetable peeler.

Knife: For cutting the potatoes into wedges and for any other food prep needed.

Measuring Cups and Spoons: For measuring out the Italian salad dressing, dried Italian seasoning, and Parmesan cheese.

what goes with it?

Sauteed spinach: the garlicky, buttery goodness of the spinach will add a touch of sophistication to this rustic Italian chicken and potato dish. Plus, it's a great way to sneak in some extra greens without anyone noticing.

Roasted cherry tomatoes: the burst of sweet and tangy flavor from the roasted tomatoes will add a pop of color and freshness to this hearty dish.

Add a dollop of pesto: the herbal, nutty flavors of pesto will boost the overall Italian flavors taste of the dish.

Garlic bread: because let's be honest, who doesn't love garlic bread with practically everything?

Caprese salad: the fresh tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella will add a pop of freshness to this hearty dish.

Crispy fried Brussels sprouts: the charred edges and crispy texture will create a nice contrast to the softer components of the main dish.

beverage pairings

Wine Pairings
Chardonnay: A buttery Chardonnay could be just the ticket here. Its smooth, creamy texture can complement the richness of the Parmesan cheese, while the hint of oak can add a touch of complexity to the dish.

Merlot: If you prefer reds, try a fruit-forward Merlot. The cherry and plum notes can enhance the Italian flavors in the dish, and the soft tannins won't overwhelm the chicken or potatoes.

Sauvignon Blanc: For a lighter option, a crisp Sauvignon Blanc can bring a zesty acidity that cuts through the richness of the Parmesan. Look for one with citrus notes.

Other Alcohol Pairings
Pilsner: A light, crisp pilsner can be a refreshing companion here. The beer's clean flavor won't compete with the Italian seasoning or Parmesan.

Gin and Tonic: The herbal notes in a classic G&T can play well with the Italian flavors in the dish.

Whiskey Sour: The sweetness and slight tanginess of a whiskey sour can complement the savory notes in the dish.

Non-Alcoholic Pairings
Lemonade: A glass of cold lemonade can offer a zesty and refreshing contrast to the richness of the chicken and potatoes.

Apple Juice: The natural sweetness of apple juice can enhance the flavors of the dish, adding a fruity element that pairs well with the Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese.

Iced Chai Latte: The warm spices in an iced chai latte can bring out the earthy flavors of the potatoes and chicken.

i don't like porkchops and so i was looking for something to make it taste different so i could get thru the meal... it was a lot more moist then most times when i make it - i would use a little more salad dressing then it calls for as there wasn't alot of sauce left but it was pretty good...for pork chops! :)

I received a new crock for Christmas this year. Tried this recipe first....and my family LOVED it. I didn't have time to cook on low, so I cooked it on high for 6 hours.
