Feta Stuffed Burgers With Greek-Style Pickle Relish

ingredients
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup fine dry bread crumbs
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 dash freshly ground black pepper
1 pound lean ground beef
3 ounces herbed feta cheese, crumbled
8 slices (.5 inch-thick) French bread
herbed feta cheese, crumbled
Greek-Style Relish
1/4 cup drained and chopped pickled carrots or pickled vegetables
1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
2 tablespoons chopped, pitted kalamata olives
2 tablespoons chopped onion
2 tablespoons golden Caesar or Italian salad dressing
directions
Combine egg, bread crumbs, onion, Worcestershire sauce and pepper in a medium bowl. Add ground beef and mix well.
Using wet hands, shape beef mixture into 4-inch round patties. Press one-fourth of the feta cheese into half of the beef patties. Top with remaining patties and press to seal edges.
Grill patties on the rack of an uncovered grill directly over medium heat for 14 to 16 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the burgers registers 160 degrees F, turning once.
Serve burgers on top of grilled French bread slices. Top each burger with a little additional crumbled feta cheese, some of the Greek-Style Relish, and remaining grilled French bread slices. Pass remaining relish.
For Greek-Style Relish: Combine pickled carrots or pickled vegetables, chopped red sweet pepper, kalamata olives, chopped onion and salad dressing in a bowl.
