Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

Bacon, cheddar cheese, red onion, jalapeno, and garlic are mixed right into the ground beef patties before cooking. Delicious!
2 pounds ground beef
8 ounces raw bacon, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
8 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
2 jalapeno peppers, finely chopped, seeded if desired
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
8 hamburger buns
Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
Combine the beef, bacon, cheese, onion, jalapenos, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well.
Form the mixture into burgers and place on the hot grill, or grill pan.
Cook until desired doneness (6-7 minutes for medium), turning the burgers once during the cook time.
Serve the burgers on the buns with any desired toppings.
