Marcus Burgers

ingredients
1 1/2 pound ground beef
water
salt and pepper, to taste
8 steamed hot dog rolls
mustard
dill pickle chips
directions
Shape ground beef into flat 1- by 2- by 6-inch rectangles, approximately the size of the hot dog buns. (Allow for slight shrinkage during cooking.)
Place the beef rolls in a flat, shallow pan and barely cover them with water. Salt and pepper to taste and bring to a boil. Simmer, uncovered, at least 40 minutes.
Serve on steamed rolls with mustard and pickle chips.

I was raised in Detroit and my dad owned a bar. He would stop at Marcus and bring home burgers when the bar closed. I loved them. Years later I ran into a Marcus burger just driving through Hamtramic . Didn't know they were still around .still love those burgers. Best burger in detroit.

GREAT!!!
Being raised in Detroit I've been eating Marcus Burgers since the 50"s. I love them. I haven't tried this recipe yet but I'll have mine with pickle relish like the real Markus Burgers are served. Every time I'm in the Detroit area now go to the 14Mile Rd and Ryan Road location.
