ingredients
1 1/2 pound lean ground beef
1 canned chipotle chili in adobo sauce, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons cumin
1 green onion, minced
4 large soft rolls, split in half
sour cream
guacamole
1 large beefsteak tomato, sliced
directions
Combine first 5 ingredients in large bowl. Season with salt and mix well. Form beef into 3/4-inch thick patties approximately the same size as rolls.
Prepare barbecue (high heat). Grill patties until cooked to desired doneness, about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Grill rolls cut side down until just warm, about 30 seconds.
Spread bottom halves of rolls with sour cream. Top bottom halves with patty. Place tomato slice, then dollop of guacamole atop beef. Top each sandwich with remaining half of roll and serve.

Why are these called tortas? Aren't they just burgers? They are good regardless but I'm just wondering why the name?
