1-2 hrs
ingredients
3 cups flour
1/2 pound butter or margarine
4 egg yolks
2/3 cup milk
2 packages dry yeast
3 tablespoons corn starch
1 pinch salt
1 can (20 ounce size) crushed pineapple, undrained
1/2 cup water
directions
Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cornstarch, put in saucepan with pineapple and 1/2 cup water. Cook until thickened. Take off heat and stir in 1 egg yolk, cook for 1 more minute, then set aside until cooled. Add pinch of salt.
Cut together 3 cups flour with margarine as for pie crust.
Scald milk then cool and add yeast to 1/2 cup milk. Beat 3 egg yolks and the rest of the milk together, and add to the flour mixture.
Mix and form 2 balls. Roll out to fit on 10" x 15" jelly roll pan. Spread pineapple mixture on top. Roll the top crust same as first, with punctured top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
While still warm, make a glaze with powdered sugar, water and vanilla and drizzle over top. Cut into squares.

They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Not to be confused with evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk is very sweet (and very sticky) and used primarily in desserts.
