The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

ingredients
1 large cucumber, peeled and cut into large pieces
2 cups water
1 cup ice
3 tablespoons sugar, or to taste
1/2 lime, juice of (or to taste)
directions
Place the cucumber in a blender and puree with all of the remaining ingredients until completely smooth.
Serve immediately, garnished with cucumber and lime.
