Cremini mushrooms bring a nice twist to standard scampi. Butter-sauteed garlic with mushrooms, flour-dusted shrimp, and white wine goes great with pasta.

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tail on if desired)
6 cloves garlic
3/4 cup butter
all-purpose flour
1 cup sliced cremini mushrooms
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1 lemon, juiced
1 cup dry sherry
1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
cooked pasta, for serving
Place the flour in a bowl and set aside. Place butter and garlic in a large skillet and saute until garlic is fragrant and sizzling.
Toss the shrimp in the flour and shake away the excess. Add to the skillet along with the mushrooms; cook until they become golden.
Season with salt and pepper. Squeeze in the lemon juice and add the wine and continue to cook for 2-3 minutes.
Toss with pasta and serve garnished with chopped parsley.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
