Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
Curried Lobster, Crab & Shrimp Dip
- add review
- #14871
Crab, lobster and shrimp all in one dip! The sesame oil and curry powder give the dip a lovely warmth. If you like it creamier add extra mayonnaise. The curry powder will be a predominant flavor so use good quality. This would also make a great sandwich filling.

ingredients
1 package frozen cooked lobster meat
1 can crab meat
1 package cooked frozen small salad shrimp
2 green onions minced or chives may be used
1 tablespoon curry powder or Madras curry paste
4 drops sesame oil
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/2 lemon, juiced
salt & pepper to taste
directions
Pick over the crab meat and remove any shells. Coarsely chop the lobster. Combine the crab, lobster and whole shrimp in a bowl. Stir in the remaining ingredients until mixed. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve on toast points, crackers, or with pita wedges.

A kind of expensive recipe to take a chance on but it worked out perfect. I did cut back a little on the curry based on the other review but I could have gone the whole amount and it would have been good too I think. The recipe is vague on the package sizes of the seafood so I added more mayo than called for because I guess I had more seafood than the recipe intended.

The curry powder was a little strong for my husband but I thought this was to die for!
