1 pound lean ground beef 1 cup chopped onion, divided 1/2 cup ketchup 1 teaspoon chili powder 1 dash ground cayenne pepper, or to taste 1 teaspoon salt 1 can (4 ounce size) chopped mild green chile, drained 1 can (16 ounce size) undrained red kidney beans 1 cup shredded American cheese tortilla chips
Cook ground beef with half of the chopped onion until meat is browned and onion is tender.
Stir in ketchup, chili powder, and salt. Add chopped chile and beans; mash mixture well.
Heat through; top with cheese and remaining chopped onion.
Keep beef and bean dip warm in chafing dish, fondue pot, or crockpot.
Serve beef and bean dip with chips.
