6 pork chops
2 ounces butter
6 ounces fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon mixed spice
1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
1 orange
2 apples
directions
Trim the excess fat from the chops and brown on both sides in melted butter.
In a bowl, mix the orange juice, brown sugar, ginger, spice, and Tabasco sauce. Pour over the chops. Cover and simmer gently for 45 minutes. Baste the chops with the orange juice occasionally while cooking.
Cut the unpeeled orange and apple into small, neat pieces and add to the pork chops during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
