I had some more pumpkin puree to use up after we tested the pumpkin martini recipe so I thought I'd go for something a little sweeter and more pumpkin pie-ish. The result was this tasty shot! The flavors are flexible so adjust to taste if desired. You can also use pumpkin pie spice in place of the cinnamon and nutmeg.
Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
