Lavender Whiskey Sour Cocktail

ingredients
Whiskey Sour
ice cubes
2 ounces whiskey
1 tablespoon Lavender Sour Syrup (see below)
1 fresh lavender sprig for garnish
Lavender Sour Syrup
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup dried lavender
freshly squeezed lemon juice
directions
For Cocktail: Fill an 8-ounce glass with ice, then pour over whiskey. Fill with lavender sour syrup and stir to combine. Garnish with lavender sprig and serve immediately.
For Lavender Sour Syrup: Bring sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan over medium heat, and cook, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Reduce heat to low and add lavender. Cover and let steep 15 minutes.
Strain mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher. Add lemon juice to taste. Keep refrigerated until ready to use.
