ingredients

4 ounces hot coffee
1/2 ounce Irish cream
1/2 ounce Kahlua
1/2 ounce Grand Marnier
whipped cream

directions

Combine the hot coffee, Irish cream, Kahlua, and Grand Marnier in a mug.

Add whipped cream as desired and serve the B-52 coffee immediately.

recipe tips

For a richer flavor, try using freshly brewed espresso instead of regular coffee.

If you prefer a sweeter drink, add a teaspoon of sugar or a flavored syrup to the coffee.

Lightly sprinkle cocoa powder or cinnamon on top of the whipped cream for garnish.

Serve the B-52 coffee in a clear mug to show off the layers before stirring.

Garnish with a stick of cinnamon or an orange twist.

If serving at a gathering, keep the coffee hot in a thermal carafe and the liqueurs in a separate decanter for guests to mix their own drinks.

Always use caution when consuming hot beverages to prevent burns.

common recipe questions

Can I use decaffeinated coffee for this recipe?

Decaffeinated coffee works just as well if you prefer to avoid caffeine.

Is it possible to make a non-alcoholic version of this drink?

While it won't be a true B-52 coffee, you can use non-alcoholic substitutes for the Irish cream (Irish cream flavored coffee creamer), Kahlua (additional coffee), and Grand Marnier (orange juice concentrate) to enjoy a similar taste.

Can I adjust the proportions of the liqueurs?

You can adjust the amounts of Irish cream, Kahlua, and Grand Marnier as desired.

How can I make this drink if I don't have Grand Marnier?

You can substitute other orange liqueurs like Cointreau or Triple Sec.

Can I prepare this coffee in advance?

It's best made fresh, but you can mix the liqueurs in advance and add them to hot coffee when ready to serve.

What type of coffee is best for this recipe?

A medium or dark roast coffee works well, but you can use any type of coffee you prefer.

tools needed

Coffee Maker: For brewing the hot coffee needed for the drink. If you don't have a coffee maker, you can brew coffee using a pour-over method or a French press.

Measuring Cups: Required to accurately measure out the Irish cream, Kahlua, Grand Marnier, and whipped cream for the recipe. Eyeballing it might lead to a cocktail that's too strong (or too weak).

Mug: For combining all the ingredients and serving the B-52 Coffee. Make sure it's heat-resistant if you're pouring hot coffee into it.

Whipped Cream Dispenser (optional): If you want to get fancy and add a dollop of whipped cream on top of your B-52 Coffee, a whipped cream dispenser can help provide that perfect fluffy topping.

Spoon: For stirring the cocktail to make sure the ingredients are well combined before adding the whipped cream. Plus, you can use it to scoop up some of that delicious whipped cream on top before sipping if you don't have a whipped cream dispenser.

what goes with it?

Chocolate-covered espresso beans: Pair these crunchy, chocolatey coffee beans with the B-52 Coffee for an extra burst of caffeine to keep you wide awake.

Mini donuts: The sweet, doughy goodness of mini donuts is the perfect accompaniment to balance out the bold flavors of the B-52 Coffee.

Orange zest: Sprinkle a bit of freshly grated orange zest on top of your B-52 Coffee for a zesty citrus twist that will complement the orange notes of the Grand Marnier.

Cinnamon sticks: Stir your B-52 Coffee with a cinnamon stick for a warm, spicy kick that will enhance the flavors of the Kahlua and Irish cream.

  1. Valerie REVIEW:

Irish creme, Kahlua, and Grand Marnier all go great individually with coffee, so why not combine them? This is a wonderfully tasty drink. And a great way to liven up your coffee. Can be made with decaf but use a good brew as the coffee flavor does come through.
