Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

This is my favorite brandy cocktail. I've tried to make it at home before but never quite got it right until I tried this version. Perfect! Only thing I added was to rub the inside of the glass with the lemon peel because I had a bartender tell me to do that one time when I asked her how to make this (I still couldn't replicate what she made but now I did!)
