2 1/2 cups water
2 cups sugar
2 cups fresh mint leaves
1 tablespoon fresh grated lemon zest
2 tablespoons fresh grated orange zest
1 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
3/4 cup fresh orange juice
1 quart ginger ale
ice

Add the mint, lemon zest, and orange zest to a large heat-safe bowl. Crush the mint and zest using the back of a spoon or pestle. Add the hot syrup to the bowl and mix well.

Add the lemon and orange juice to the mint mixture, stirring as you add the juices and mixing until it is well blended.

Strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer. Discard the solids.

Fill glasses with ice. Fill 3/4ths full with the orange-mint mixture. Top with the ginger ale. Stir gently and serve.
