Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.

This whiskey-laden root beer float is the dessert that's perfect for turning a dinner party into a real party.

4 ounces whiskey
6 ounces chilled root beer
1 scoop vanilla ice cream
Place the whiskey in a highball glass. Add the vanilla ice cream and then top with the chilled root beer. Stir gently and serve immediately.
For presentation purposes, you can freeze small individual scoops of ice cream on a tray until very firm. That way the ice cream is more firm when you add it to the drink than if you have to soften the ice cream to scoop it.
Beer makes batters better, meat more tender, and sauces more flavorful.
The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
This iconic whiskey is a "Jack of all trades" when it comes to cooking. Toss it in some pasta, as a savory dipping sauce, and even bake it into something sweet.

Now this is my kind of rootbeer float! Use good ingredients (cheap whisky won't cut it). Going to go make another one right now!

Grown-up root beer float indeed! This is a fun mixed drink. And, as the submitter suggests, it has great potential for presentation. We added a little more ice cream than called for, for a creamier drink - more like a traditional root beer float. This would be an easy drink to make in larger batches, just adding ice cream to the individual glasses.
