2 cups fresh strawberries (hulled and quartered)
1 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
2 ounces simple syrup*
4 ounces gold tequila
ice cubes
Put all ingredients (except ice) in blender and puree until smooth, about 1 minute.
Fill glass 1/2 full with ice and pour over.
* Simple Syrup - Put 1 cup sugar and 3/4 cup water in small saucepan. Over medium heat stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and cool. I store my simple syrups in a plastic squeezy bottle and store in the fridge.
I have to give this one to hubby. Last night he saw 5 pounds of strawberries for $3 and couldn't resist. You can really taste the fresh strawberries in this drink and will soon be thinking of all the recipes you will be creating with the fresh fruit of the summer. Enjoy!

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
