Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

I wanted a little more flavor, so I added a packet of mushroom gravy mix and a cup of water. It was delicious and super easy! Chicken was falling apart. Served over egg noodles with salad, it made a perfect meal! Will definitely fix this one again.

I was worried that the bacon would not cook properly, but what a great dish! My family and neighbors loved it. I will be making this one again.

I substituted cream of asparagus soup for the chicken soup, and plain yoghurt for the sour cream (out of necessity) and the recipe was absolutely delicious! I would make it again and again.
