Slow Cooker Italian Pork Chops Marinara

ingredients
6 boneless pork chops, each about 1/2" thick
1 jar (26 ounce size) marinara sauce
1/2 pint fresh mushrooms, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
directions
Wash chops and pat dry with paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.
Heat oil in skillet and fry chops brown on both sides. Put in crock pot. Top with vegetables. Mix marinara with sugar, and a little more salt and pepper. Pour over veggies - don't stir.
Cover and cook low 6 hours or until chops are tender. When ready to serve top with cheese.
