Cheesy Slow Cooker Potatoes and Chops
- add review
- #21262
Pork chops are rubbed with a garlic-seasoned rub and browned. They are then added to the crock pot along with potatoes and covered with a cheesy mushroom sauce.

ingredients
4 tenderloin pork chops
1 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning, crushed
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 can Cheddar cheese soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup water
4 medium potatoes
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
directions
Trim excess fat from chops. In a small bowl, mix Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Sprinkle half of the herb mixture onto chops and rub in. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown both sides of the chops in hot oil. Set aside.
Reduce heat to low. Pour off excess drippings from skillet. Add soups and water, stirring to loosen browned bits on bottom of skillet. Set aside.
Meanwhile peel potatoes. Slice into a large bowl. Add onion and remaining herb mixture, tossing to coat well. Spread on bottom of crock pot. Cover with pork chops. Evenly pour soup mixture over potatoes. Cook on low 8 - 9 hours.

The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.
Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

I am making this as we speak--Using 3 1/2 jumbo potatoes and omitting the cheddar soup. I will add some grated cheese toward the end, or maybe a dash of sour cream! I used 1/4c water and 1/4c milk for the soup/sauce. Used lots of spices as written and added more onion to the potatoes as this is what we like. I used 4 boneless thick pork cutlets. **The addition of mushrooms sounds great!
Hi! I would love to try this recipe. It sounds great, however I would like to add mushrooms to the dish. Does anyone know how long the mushrooms should cook..for example should I leave them in the entire 8 hours or maybe add them halfway through?

These chops were very delicious! I would only do one thing different. I would use maybe 6 potatoes instead of 4 because I had some chops and plenty of sauce leftover but not enough potatoes for a second meal since there are only 2 of us. Otherwise very tasty.

This was fantastic. I used cream of chicken cause we don't like mushroom soup. I have the pickiest kids ever and they both ate it with no arguments. We are not big pork eaters, but this was delish. The pork chops were so tender they fell apart when I tried to take them out with tongs. I had to use a big spoon. Will be making this again.

I made this about 2 months ago and it was fantastic. My entire family ate this and there were actually no leftovers. I am making it again tomorrow for dinner and I'm looking forward to it! Thanks for the recipe.
