30-60 minutes
ingredients
1 medium chopped onion
1 teaspoon bacon drippings
3 slices white bread (preferably a good bakery bread)
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1 pound ground beef
1/2 pound ground pork
salt and pepper, to taste
directions
Chop the onion into small pieces. Fry the onion in the bacon drippings until golden brown. Set aside to cool. You'll have a mess if you try to mix onions with the meat while still hot.
Soak the bread in milk. Break the soaked bread into small pieces. Combine the onions, bread, egg, beef and pork. Salt and pepper to taste.
Shape the mixture into thick hamburgers. Brown them in the bacon drippings. Do not fully cook.
Place in oven on baking sheet with sides. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees F.

It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

This was a very good recipe. I also added my homemade tomato sauce, with sliced onions on top.
