A can of cream of mushroom soup can be a real dinner saver. It works great in casseroles and can turn into a sauce or gravy in a pinch.

1 cup applesauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar or honey
3 large sweet potatoes, sliced
2 pounds pork chops or cutlets
1 can whole cranberry sauce
salt, to taste
freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Pour the applesauce in a 3 1/2-quart or larger crock pot. Add the sweet potato slices, sprinkle or drizzle with brown sugar or honey, salt and pepper lightly; add pork.
Lightly sprinkle pork with salt and pepper; spoon cranberry sauce over all. Cover and cook on LOW 7 to 9 hours.

My family really liked this recipe. It was easy and one that I would use for company. I used honey instead of brown sugar and a "no-sugar added" applesauce and we thought the sweetness was just right.

I thought this recipe was great. After reading the comment on sweetness, I used "no sugar added granny smith applesauce" and used lots of fresh ground black pepper. Set to low for the full 9 hours. Pork was tender and savory-not too sweet at all. Will defintely make again. Thanks for the great recipe!

Didn't care for this. Chops were tough, potatoes were too sweet for me. Just not my cup of tea.
