Sweet & Sour Bacon Salad Dressing

ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons water
4 slices bacon
salt and pepper, to taste
directions
Mix the sugar and beaten egg together until well blended. Add the lemon juice and water.
Cook bacon slices until crisp. Remove bacon from pan and reserve drippings. Gradually add sugar mixture to drippings in pan. Stir gently over medium heat until thick. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in bacon.
Serve hot over spinach or lettuce salad.
