Cottage cheese dressing is a versatile option for those looking for a healthier alternative to traditional dressings. It is perfect for salads, as a dip, or even as a sandwich spread.
1 cup cottage cheese, cream style
2 tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons milk
Combine the cottage cheese, sugar, and lemon juice in a blender or food processor. Process until smooth and creamy.
Add the milk a little at a time until the desired consistency is achieved.
Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar as needed depending on how you are using the dressing.
Try different flavorings such as herbs, spices, or even a splash of vinegar.
For a thicker dressing, let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.
Give the dressing a Caesar-style flavor by adding some anchovies and Parmesan cheese.
You can use low-fat or non-fat cottage cheese for a healthier option. The texture may be a bit thinner so you may not need as much milk.
You can substitute honey, maple syrup, agave nectar, or a sugar substitute like Splenda.
You can use lime juice or orange juice for a slightly different flavor.
To make the dressing thicker, use less milk or add a little more cottage cheese.
You can add herbs like dill or chives, or spices like garlic powder or onion powder to add flavor to the dressing.
Store leftover dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir well before using, as the dressing may separate.
It is not recommended to freeze cottage cheese dressing, as it may separate and change in texture when thawed.
You can serve the dressing with salads, as a dip for vegetables or chips, or as a spread on sandwiches or wraps.

Just made this and the only substitute I did was splenda instead of sugar due to diabetic. It is awesome!

Wow, this is amazing!!! I thought this recipe looked strange enough to try, and I'm glad I did!! I followed Ms. Smith's advice and used AC vinegar in place of the lemon juice. I highly recommend trying this, you will be glad you did!!

Super, Super Awesome! What great flavor! The only change we made was substituting the lemon juice for apple cider vinegar. We loved it. When my kids like something new I make they say, "It's a keeper!" This dressing got rated a keeper in our home. Thank you, Ms.Smith
