1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onions
1/4 cup fresh chopped garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 can (28 ounce size) diced tomatoes
1 can (28 ounce size) pureed tomatoes
directions
Saute onions and garlic in olive oil until onions are translucent. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes.

Made this quickly tonight, was amazing! Picked up some mozzarella dippers from the shops and fancied a tomato dipping sauce! I used a salad tomato and tube puree with a bit of water and it was beautiful!! Wish i had made more!

I used a little less oil and 1/4 cup sugar. It turned out delish! I dredged some store bought cheese ravioli's in butter and bread crumbs then baked them til crispy. We used the sauce to dip them in and it was a huge hit!!
