It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

2 medium acorn squash
2 apples, cored, sliced
1/2 cup Butter Buds, liquid
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt, optional
1/2 teaspoon ground mace
Cut squash in half lengthwise; remove seeds. Cut into 1/2" slices and peel squash. Arrange in a sprayed 12 x 8" baking dish and top with apples.
Combine remaining ingredients in a small bowl; spoon over apple slices. Cover tightly with foil.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 1/4 hrs or until squash is tender.

What would be the equivalent of melted butter vs the liquid butter buds.
Since it's not just butter flavor that's called for in the recipe (the recipe needs liquid), you'd probably need to use the same amount of melted butter as the liquid butter buds.
