Baked Acorn Squash With Bacon

ingredients
3 acorn squash
6 tablespoons butter
salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 slices bacon, cut into halves
2 tablespoons brown sugar
directions
Preheat oven to moderate (350 degrees F.)
Cut the squash in half and spoon out the seeds. Arrange the squash halves, cut side up, on a baking sheet.
Drop one tablespoon of butter into the cavity of each half and season to taste with salt and pepper. Add half a slice of bacon to each half and one tablespoon of brown sugar.
Bake 45 minutes, or until the vegetable is tender when tested with a fork.
