  1. Naomi REVIEW:

This is a family favourite which is from Betty Crocker's Cookbook. Delish as is but along the years, I have "beefed" up the recipe which is great for leftovers. I use 3lbs of beef for the same amount of ingredients. Substitute onion powder to reduce sodium and add additional garlic. After all ingredients are stirred in add sliced carrots on top. Stir in sliced mushrooms before cornstarch slurry. Add chopped parsley before serving. Works great with sirloin steak as well.

  2. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

I really enjoy braised beef and this recipe did not disappoint. The meat was very tender and the wine-consomme sauce was very flavorful.

  3. hammelcarr REVIEW:

We enjoyed this dish. It had the quality of being tasty without anything standing out. A good blend of ingredients. Only fault was it was far too thin. We had to add 1/2 cup flour to keep it from settling at the bottom of the rice bowl. Also, what is the purpose of using self-rising flour instead of all-purpose?

  4. Michi REVIEW:

This recipe as it stands was a little bland. It does make a good base recipe for someone to add their own spices and other ingredients to. Do not use this recipe for the first time as it stands unless you eat low salt and low flavorful meals.

  5. Learning to cook REVIEW:

Recipe was easy to understand, and my husband loved it. I recommended it to a friend and now i'm just waiting on her response. Try it!

  6. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

This recipe was FAR to concentrated, and even when diluted it was still very strong. I hated it.
