Spanish Brown Rice With Sausage - CDKitchen.com

ingredients

1 pound spicy sausage, diced
1/2 cup diced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 medium red bell pepper, seeded and coarsely chopped
1 can (15 ounce size) crushed tomatoes undrained
1 1/2 cup water
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup raw short grain brown rice
1 tablespoon chopped jalapeno pepper

directions

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the sausage and onion and cook, stirring, until the sausage is browned. Add to the crock pot.

Add the remaining ingredients to the crock pot and stir well.

Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours or until the rice is tender and the sausage is cooked.

Stir well before serving and adjust seasoning as needed.
