INGREDIENTS:

1 1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/8 teaspoon unsweetened lemonade drink mix
1 cup very hot water
1 cup corn syrup
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, PLUS"PLUS" means this ingredient in addition to the one on the next line, often with divided uses
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
10 cups cold soda water


DIRECTIONS:

Dissolve the sugar and the lemonade drink mix in the hot water in a small pitcher. Add the corn syrup and vanilla extract. Stir well. Cover and chill syrup until cold.

When the syrup is cold, pour 1/4 cup syrup into 1 cup cold soda water. Stir gently, add ice and serve.
