The name, vodka, comes from the Russian phrase zhiznennaia voda, or "water of life". It can be made from everything from potatoes to beets. It's considered to be fairly flavorless which makes it a great liquor for mixed drinks.

The key to this flavorful crockpot concoction is the diced tomatoes with balsamic and basil. If you can't find a can of that, try fire-roasted tomatoes.

6 skinless boneless chicken breast halves
1 can (15 ounce size) navy beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (14 ounce size) diced tomatoes with balsamic vinegar, basil and olive oil, undrained
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Put the chicken in a crock pot. In a large bowl, combine the navy beans, diced tomatoes, salt and pepper, then pour the mixture over the chicken.
Cover and cook on LOW for 5 to 7 hours or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked. Serve the chicken on a warm platter, topped with the beans and sauce.

Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.
