Pumpkins aren't just for pies or Halloween decorations. These large, orange gourds - while naturally sweet - also work well in savory dishes. They pair well with poultry and pork (and especially bacon) and their creamy-when-cooked texture blends easily into soups.

I tried a variation of this and thought I'd make a suggestion. You should be putting about 3 slices into your chicken before applying the mixture as well as letting it sit on the chicken (while refrigerated) for a short time before baking. This will give the INSIDE of the chicken added favor (instead of it all sitting on the outside).
Do you use actual ranch salad dressing or the ranch powder mix?

Good I added a little hot sauce to my mix, but I like everything spicy. Thanks.

This is a family favorite. My kids are pretty picky but this goes over every time. Clean plates. I serve it with a cheddar/broccoli rice mix (perfect compliment), and a green veggie or salad.

The recipe is pretty good and makes good juicy chicken. the only additional suggestion would be to sprinkle salt and pepper on the breading before baking, then let the chicken bake for about 15-20 minutes before adding cheese. adding the cheese later keeps the cheese from browning too much and enhances the flavor.
my family didn't care for this. Big disappointment since my daughter wanted to impress her boyfriend she invited over.
*what* didn't they care for about it? Flavor? Texture? More information is helpful to other visitors who want to make this recipe.

The chicken was juicy and very easy to prepare. My eight year old loved it, and that's saying alot. She claims that this recipe is a new family favorite!
