Teriyaki and ranch form an unlikely power couple in this recipe. It's a wonderful pairing of creamy and tangy, and the familiar combo of cheddar, green onion, and bacon doesn't hurt either.
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
1/2 cup teriyaki basting sauce
1/2 cup ranch-style salad dressing
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 green onions, chopped
1/4 cup bacon bits
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts, and saute 4 to 5 minutes each side, until lightly browned.
Place browned chicken breasts in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Brush with teriyaki sauce, then spoon on salad dressing. Sprinkle with cheese, green onions and bacon bits.
Bake for 25 to 35 minutes, or until chicken is no longer pink and juices run clear.

Instead of ranch dressing I used miracle whip (didn't have any ranch). This was good. Also omitted the bacon bits.

I was surprised that the combination of ranch dressing and teriyaki sauce worked but it did. Sounded like an odd combo. The chicken was done perfectly. I only made one pan but if I need to make more for a larger group I'll definitely use the whole recipe.

Last minute I was looking for something new to do with chicken breasts tonight and saw I had all the necessary ingredients except for the onions, which I just omitted. The recipe worked out great as far as being just a nice homey family dinner--not too dressed up for my toddler and really quick to prep.

Really good and easy. i made this for guests and they loved it. i suggest putting the cheese on last, with onions and bacon under the cheese.

Taste good. I made a 2 people serving. The onion on top won't mix into the dish. My suggestion is to put the onion close to the sauce
