Italian Sausage and Rice Casserole

ingredients
1 pound bulk Italian sausage
1 cup diced celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2 cup toasted slivered almonds
1 cup uncooked converted rice
2 cups chicken broth
directions
Brown the sausage in a large skillet over moderately high heat, then with a slotted spoon transfer to a 2 1/2 quart casserole. Drain all but 3 tablespoons drippings from skillet.
Saute the celery, onion and green pepper in drippings over moderate heat about 5 minutes or until limp and lightly browned. Transfer to casserole. Add almonds, rice and broth and stir well.
Cover casserole tightly. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 1/2 hours or until rice if fluffy-tender.
