ingredients

2 pounds shark steaks
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup ketchup

directions

Rinse fish in cold water; gently pat dry with paper towels. Set aside. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Add onion and garlic; saute until tender but not browned. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Bring to boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes until sauce thickens. Remove from heat. Baste shark with sauce and place on well-greased grill. Cook 4-5 minutes. Baste and turn; cook an additional 4-5 minutes, or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.

  1. Siesta mom REVIEW:

We all loved this recipe! I made the onion slices larger and let them kind of caramelize. Next time I'll make extra sauce to serve on the side. Brings out the flavor of the fish well. We will make it again.

  3. cookie REVIEW:

I never see shark anymore at our stores so I used mahi mahi steaks. I found the vinegar a little strong but otherwise it was good.

I catch alot of shark and I am always looking for a new recipe. This is by far a favorite now of the family. The teenagers who thought they would never like shark loved it. Recipe so easy to follow.

  5. Guest Foodie REVIEW:

I used a little less catsup and a little more garlic and worcestershire. The sauce was a little sweet but kept the shark from getting dry - a great grill recipe!
