2 (16 oz.) pkgs. frozen broccoli spears 1/3 cup milk 1/3 cup Miracle Whip salad dressing 5 slices American cheese, cut into small pieces 1 can cream of mushroom soup 2 cups crushed Cheez-Its cheese crackers, divided
Bring a kettle of water to a full boil. Cook broccoli for 5 minutes.
Drain well.Mix other ingredients in 9 x 13 baking dish, setting one cup of crushed crackers aside. Add cooked broccoli. Refrigerate overnight. If you don't refrigerate this long enough, it turns out soupy. Before cooking, stir thoroughly and add remaining cheese crackers.
Optional - add 1 1/2 cups cooked ham, cut into cubes. Do not add ham the night before, because this will make the broccoli taste too salty.
