Rich Fruit Cake Recipe

Ingredients:
6 egg whites
8 ounces butter
1/2 pound soft brown sugar
1 pound self raising flour
4 ounces glace cherries
2 pounds mixed dried fruit
1 teaspoon spice
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 ounces ground almonds
3 tablespoons whiskey
Directions:
Beat egg whites. Cream butter and sugar together. Gradually beat in egg whites. Fold in flour. Add Fruit, spices and whiskey. Put mixture into a prepared, lined 8 inch cake tin.
Bake at 300 F for 4 hours.
