Lemon Fruit Cake

2 cups sugar
4 cups flour
1 cup butter
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 ounces lemon extract
4 cups pecans
1 pound whole candied cherries (red or green)
1 pound candied pineapple (cut in small chunks)
8 eggs
directions
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating until smooth.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt, then add butter.
Fold pecans, cherries and pineapple adding extract last.
Bake in 300 degrees F oven for 2 hours.
