Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.

10 ounces unsalted butter
1 pound good-quality semisweet chocolate (or bittersweet)
2 cups granulated sugar
8 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
16 chocolate-covered peanut butter cups
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Melt butter and chocolate together in a metal bowl over simmering water. Remove from over water and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs and vanilla. Whisk only to blend. Add chocolate mixture and whisk gently. Add flour and salt and use the whisk to stir in until blended.
Grease a 12 by 12-inch square pan (or a 9x13-inch pan, and line the bottom with parchment.
Pour a just under half of the brownie batter into pan and spread smooth.
Place the peanut butter cups upside-down onto the batter, spacing them evenly in rows of 4 (the brownies will be cut into squares, with a peanut butter cup in the center of each.) Push the cups down into the batter slightly. Top with the remaining batter and gently spread smooth.
Bake 30 minutes. Center will still be soft. Remove from oven and let cool in pan on wire rack.
Cool completely before cutting, or for best cutting results, chill several hours or overnight in refrigerator.
Cut into 3-inch squares.

Love the spinach dip at restaurants like TGIFriday's and the Olive Garden? Make it at home with these easy-to-follow copycat recipes.
It may look like a sad little package shoved in the back of your freezer, but frozen spinach actually has a lot of culinary uses (and some may surprise you).

For the chocolate/peanut butter lover! Excellent brownies. Definitely watch how you cut it so you get a cup in each brownie. Best effect that way when you bite into it and there is the peanut butter cup. And I agree too that these are good after sitting for a couple of hours. They didn't make it to overnight chilling at our house.
WOW!!! I made this brownie for my husband who LOVES chocolate, and he went crazy over this recipe:) He also ate the brownie a couple of hours after I made it, and he agrees with everything gjgee stated above. I will for sure make this one over and over again!!!!

Wow! What a terrific brownie! One of the best-tasting brownies I've ever had, and not just because of the peanut butter cups! The chocolate flavor is strong, rich and very dense. Although the recipe recommends chilling overnight, we couldn't wait! After two hours at room temp, the brownies had set enough to cut, but were still warm and gooey inside - it was like eating a big, warm PB cup! Decadent, delicious, and easy to prepare, too. I'll be making these again!
