Ah, the unassuming envelope of onion soup mix. It's more than just for onion soup (or dip). It adds tremendous flavor (and convenience) in all these recipes.
Toffee Chip Banana Bread

ingredients
3/4 cup margarine
1 1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
5 very ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup toffee bits (such as crumbled Health or Skor bars)
directions
Grease and lightly flour loaf pans.
In a mixing bowl cream together the margarine and sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla. Mix until creamy.
In a separate bowl combine flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Blend dry ingredients into the creamed mixture. Fold in the mashed bananas and the toffee bits.
Pour the mixture into the prepared pans. Bake in a 350 degrees F oven for 50 to 60 minutes.

Jacquline dear, just remember to double check your submissions. Your recipie instructions call for vanilla, but you did not include that in your ingredients list. I'm ok with it because I'm an expierienced cook but others not so seasoned might miss it. I plan on trying this tonight. My family loaves bananas & toffee. Bravo dear for the idea. Keep cooking!
