ingredients
1 pound ground beef
4 small carrots, peeled and sliced thin
4 small potatoes, peeled and sliced thin
2 small onions, peeled and sliced thin
salt and pepper

You will need a clean, empty, 3-pound metal coffee can.
In the coffee can, alternate layers of beef, potatoes, carrots, onions, salt, and pepper until all ingredients are used up.
Cover the can with aluminum foil. Place on the campfire and let cook for 30-60 minutes or until everything is cooked (exact timing will depend on the heat of the campfire).
Carefully remove the hot can from the fire using tongs or oven mitts. Scoop out the ingredients using a spoon and place in individual serving bowls.
